Business in Redlands
Most of us appreciate Redlands for the sense of community that exists here. The special events that take place such as the Run Through Redlands, Redlands Bicycle Classic and Rotary Ride, and the 4th of July Celebration. In addition we have great cultural experiences through the Redlands Symphony, Redlands Bowl, Footlighters, Redlands Theatre Festival and many more. Sports activities for children and adults alike are numerous. As citizens we need to remember most of the jewels of our city are a reality through the support of local businesses. Now more than ever, it is vitally important the citizens of Redlands patronize local business. Local businesses write the big checks to support these community acitivities. As citizens we need to shop and patronize the businesses who contribute to our community and make it the special place we know and love. Without them, the complexion of Redlands will look very different.

You are quite right. While individuals do support our events, much of the great support comes from business (and many times, a large gift from an individual is really from business activates). These funds naturally only come from the businesses' customers. So all Redlands residents who shop at local businesses that support local events and organizations actually also support the community. It is a good way to maintain the many wonderful assets we have in Redlands. Keeping business in town supports our culture and provides local taxes for the city!
