Can this town save itself? What is wrong with updating the downtown? What is with the reluctance to change? What are we going to lose? We moved to this city about a year ago. We chose Redlands because it was the only city in San Bernardino County that seemed safe and worth living in. Since our move I view this town as a lazy, sleeping sloth. Yes, lazy is a good word. People talk about safekeeping the old ways of Redlands......I think people are lazy to effect change. That would cause some thinking, some activity, a little work, a lot of discipline and strategy. But with no change, no work is needed. Ok maybe not a like sloth........but how about a woolly mammoth? As in extinction.

Another word is counter productive. In our first year we have been to almost every eatery in Redlands and many owners of these establishments have continually commented on how difficult it is to work within the confines of city rules and regulations. We have to be more business friendly. It should not take a whole year or two to open up a business. That is lost revenue! And guess what this city is in need of right now? The most we partner with businesses the more we make together.

well said - let's make this town the true "Gem" of the IE instead of Mayberry FDR. Redlands is stuck in a time warp.
